How it Started
Launched in the early 1960's, former orchard land became the setting for Shadow Hills, a private 18-hole golf course.
In 1963 it was then sold to Bohemia Lumber Company who originally planned to develop the surrounding land for subdivisions. The State of Oregon, not surprisingly, ruled years later they would protect local farmland, making housing development impossible.
Over the next two decades Shadow Hills gained popularity as the newest golf club in the area. It was favored by small-business owners and rising young professionals alike.
